If your business has one or more employees, you are required by law to post various federal and state labor law posters. Employers may not realize they need to regularly update those posters and any required notices whenever there are changes to labor laws. State and federal agencies may change these laws at any time without notifying an individual business, so it is important to stay up-to-date to avoid incurring a violation.
Employers in certain states such as California and New York need to pay close attention, as these states have recently had many updates to their labor laws. In addition, all employers should develop and maintain a tracking system to regularly check for mandatory updates of both federal and state postings and replace any outdated notices.
