President Trump Signs Executive Order Expanding Options for Consumers and Businesses Regarding Health Insurance

On October 12, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order expanding insurance options. The order discusses three opportunities that will increase access to health insurance for individuals.

Specifically, the Executive Order directs the Labor Department to analyze how small businesses could join together and buy insurance through an association and offer group coverage across state lines.

Additionally, it requests regulations allowing consumers to purchase short-term health policies and allowing employers to offer Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) on a wider basis and for non-group coverage. For more information on the Executive Order, please click here
